Guangdong's cinematic achievements introduced at Filmart in Hong Kong

The Guangdong Pavilion of the 28th Hong Kong International Film and TV Market (Filmart), one of Asia's largest film and entertainment content marketplaces, was inaugurated on March 11 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre.

This year, nearly 50 film and television organizations from Guangdong participated in the expo, introducing around a hundred exceptional film and TV works and the province's audio-visual technologies to global clients. During this four-day expo, the Guangdong Pavilion will host a series of events, including a key film project conference and over 30 film and television promotional activities.


The exhibited works feature a diverse array of genres and themes, covering animation, opera, romance, comedy, action, and documentaries, presenting a colorful spectrum of new films and series.

Notably, the booths of leading Guangdong animation companies have seen numerous attendees coming for negotiation. Animated films such as the Boonie Bearsseries, I Am What I Am 2, Into the Mortal World, and Xu Wu Bian Jing have been particularly popular among buyers.

Among these,Into the Mortal World, produced by Guangdong-based animation company Winsing, is inspired by the myth of the Cowherd and the Weaver Girl, also known as Niulang and Zhinyu in Chinese. Directed by Zhong Ding, an associate professor at the Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts, this film involves over 2,000 animation artists and took five years to make.
