LHASA, April 21 (Xinhua) -- The export volume of homegrown new energy vehicles (NEVs) via customs in southwest China's Xizang Autonomous Region reached 1,623 in the first quarter of 2024, a year-on-year increase of over sixfold, local authorities said on April 21.

All the exported NEVs were sold to Nepal. Among them, sedans and small passenger cars accounted for more than 90 percent.

The export volume of NEVs to Nepal has been substantially increasing in recent years due to the good quality and affordability of Chinese products.
