On June 7, GDToday paid a visit to the Modaoshan site, located in Hekou Town and Hedu Village, Yunfu. This site was the original setting of "Through Modaoshan," a documentary that delved into the ancient roots of Guangdong province by digitally restoring the lives of its earliest inhabitants.
Discovered in January 2013, the site dated back to the early Paleolithic Age, approximately 60,000 to 80,000 years ago. It stands as the earliest ancient cultural relic unearthed in Guangdong, significantly pushing back the timeline of human activities in the region.
The documentary, released on June 2nd, offered an enlightening journey into the ancient past of Guangdong. It provided valuable insights into the lives of early human inhabitants and their environment.
