Two new flight routes have been added to the ever-growing list of options for travelers in Guangzhou. The city now offers direct flights to Xingtai, Hebei Province and Belgrade, the capital of Serbia.
On July 18, at 07:43 a.m., China Southern Airlines' CZ8245 flight departed from Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport with 135 passengers on board and successfully landed at Xingtai Daliang Airport at 10:00 a.m. This marks the official commencement of the Guangzhou-Xingtai regular flight route and the inaugural flight of Xingtai Daliang Airport.

Xingtai, located in the southern part of Hebei Province, boasts a rich history and cultural heritage. Known as one of the birthplaces of the Yangshao Culture, it holds the name of "Ancient Capital of Five Dynasties and Mighty Prefecture of Ten Dynasties". Moreover, it has been designated as a key city in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei urban agglomeration by the Hebei Provincial Government.

The Guangzhou-Xingtai direct flight route, operated by an Airbus A320 aircraft, will be available every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday. Departing as CZ8245 at 07:35 a.m. from Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport, it will arrive at Xingtai Daliang Airport in Hebei at 10:30 a.m. The return flight, CZ8246, will depart from Xingtai Daliang Airport at 11:20 a.m. and arrive back at Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport at 2:10 p.m.
The Guangzhou-Xingtai route is the first flight route established by China Southern Airlines to Hebei's Xingtai. As the peak summer travel season unfolds, the introduction of this direct flight route will provide passengers with additional travel options and meet their increasing demands during this busy period.
In addition to this route, Air Serbia announced that it will launch a direct flight from Guangzhou to the Serbian capital Belgrade starting September 30. Operated twice a week with an Airbus A330 aircraft, flight JU988 will depart from Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport at 00:50 a.m. every Monday and Friday, arriving at Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport at 5:10 p.m. The return flight, JU989, will depart from Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport at 10:10 p.m. every Monday and Friday, reaching Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport at 4:30 a.m. (All times mentioned are local time.)
Serbia, situated at the crossroads between Eastern Europe and Western Europe, shines as a gem on the Balkan Peninsula. Belgrade, its capital, captivates visitors with its blend of traditional charm and modern allure.
Traveling from Belgrade to other European destinations is also convenient, as famous European tourist cities including Istanbul, Rome, and Vienna are merely a little over an hour away by air, making it an ideal transit hub.
Apart from the Guangzhou route, Air Serbia plans to launch a direct flight from Shanghai to Belgrade in December this year. Combined with the existing Tianjin route established in 2022, travelers will soon enjoy easier connections to Serbia from three major Chinese cities. This expansion of flight routes will foster closer ties between China and Serbia, facilitating enhanced cooperation and exchanges in the fields of trade, culture, and tourism.
