On September 22, the 2024 Inaugural F3 Dragon Boat Super League Chancheng Station Race and Dragon Boat Carnival took place on the Fenjiang River. Ten strong dragon boat teams from various towns and streets in Chancheng paddled vigorously in the competition.

Around 9:40 a.m., following the eye-dotting ceremony, the sound of the starting pistol echoed, and rows of neatly aligned dragon boats surged forward like arrows cutting through the waves. To the powerful beat of the drums, the competitors paddled with synchronized precision, creating a spectacular scene.

The spectators on the banks were also swept up in the enthusiastic atmosphere, waving their arms and cheering loudly for their favorite teams. "I used to think dragon boat races were only for traditional festivals, but now I can watch them right in my neighborhood. It feels very refreshing," said Ms. Liao from Guangxi, who brought her child to experience the charm of dragon boat culture.

The event was organized in a single-lane timed format, featuring two categories: men's and women's teams. The men's competition included five events: 200m and 500m straight races for 12-person dragon boats, as well as 200m and 500m straight races for 22-person dragon boats, and a 400m return race for 22-person dragon boats. The women's competition featured two events: 200m and 500m straight races for 12-person dragon boats.

After fierce competition, the Hongyu Dragon Boat Team, Liantang Dragon Boat Team, Zumiao Dragon Boat Team, and the Foshan Experimental Middle School Women's Dragon Boat Team emerged victorious, earning the right to represent Chancheng District at the final race of the 2024 F3 Dragon Boat Super League on October 2 at Guipan Lake in Shunde.

"During our usual training, we maintain high motivation, and today, while paddling, I could feel everyone's excitement and the speed of the dragon boat," said Wang Zizhuo, vice captain of the Foshan Experimental Middle School rowing team. She hopes that through their hard work and determination, they can showcase the spirit of the women's dragon boat team.
