Despite the pandemic influence on the global industrial and supply chains, Guangdong pressed ahead with its trade worldwide and nationwide initiative in 2022 to help businesses to secure orders, expand market and sustain economic growth under the “dual circulation” development pattern.
In the first half of this year, the online fair of “Guangdong Trade Worldwide” attracted over 55,000 buyers and helped 6,307 local businesses expand business overseas, with a subsequent turnover totaling over 1.5 billion USD.
According to the attendees, the online fair can not only save traveling and hotel costs for businesses but also allow them to communicate effectively with overseas clients during the pandemic.
“Customers can see our product samples in the offline exhibition overseas and then talk with us online. This simultaneous offline-and-online model is really good, making it possible to gain more new clients with relatively lower costs,” said Ma Xueteng, manager from Guangzhou Zicai Cosmetics Factory.

During the just-concluded Lanzhou Investment & Trade Fair (July 7-11), 83 companies from Guangdong showcased their products in the “Guangdong Trade Nationwide” exhibition area.
“Gansu province has abundant traditional Chinese medicine resources, which could be the perfect complement to the Chenpi (dried tangerine or orange peel) culture in Guangdong. I hope Xinhui Chenpi can get further promoted in the northwestern region through the “Guangdong Trade Nationwide” platform,” said Zhang Chuncan, sales manager from Xinbaotang Chenpi Co., Ltd., in Xinhui District of Jiangmen City.
In recent years, Guangdong has built a high-quality cooperation platform for businesses under the trade nationwide initiative.
It held over 100 events of “Guangdong Trade Nationwide” last year, attracting over 20,000 enterprises with an intended turnover of more than 40 billion RMB.
“The trade nationwide initiative has helped agricultural products manufacturing and processing enterprises in the province to get in contact with many sales channels and further tap into the domestic market,” said Ouyang Jianbin, executive deputy general manager from Guangdong Yinghong Agricultural Science and Technology Development Co., Ltd.
The online trade nationwide fair was launched at the end of April this year, bringing over 100 famous brands in the province together to inject new impetus into the market as well as to stimulate consumer spending.
