Foshan's healthcare landscape is set to be upgraded as the construction of the highly anticipated Sanlongwan Campus of The First People's Hospital of Foshan officially commenced in Guicheng, Nanhai District. The momentous event took place on July 7, with the hospital's key leaders, including Liu Yongyao, the Secretary of the Party Committee, and Chen Guoqiang, the President, attending the groundbreaking ceremony.
Spanning an area of over 36,100 square meters, the Sanlongwan Campus aims to establish itself as a premier medical facility in the region, boasting an impressive capacity of over 500 beds for inpatients. This comprehensive project is strategically designed to offer a wide range of medical services, catering to the diverse needs of the local people.
Located on the western side of Huandao East Road, Guicheng, Nanhai District, the Sanlongwan Campus strategically positions itself to serve not only Foshan but also the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. Its establishment will contribute significantly to the integration of medical and elderly care services, elevating the regional healthcare standards and ensuring the accessibility of quality medical care for patients.
Once completed, the Sanlongwan Campus will stand as a beacon of advanced healthcare services, combining specialization and comprehensive care. It will serve as a public tertiary hospital catering to the healthcare needs of the community, offering various medical services to meet both general and specialized requirements. Additionally, the campus is poised to become the first tertiary hospital within the Sanlongwan Sci-Tech City.
The establishment of the Sanlongwan Campus further strengthens Foshan's medical infrastructure and its enhances its commitment to providing top-notch healthcare services. With a comprehensive network of 2,699 medical institutions, including 30 tertiary hospitals (12 of which are Grade 3 hospitals), Foshan has achieved remarkable progress in the development of its healthcare system. Approximately 81% of townships have secondary and higher-level hospitals, and standardized primary healthcare institutions and traditional Chinese medicine clinics have been established, forming a robust "15-minute quality medical service circle".
