On August 22, CCID released the "2023 Top 500 Township Economies Nationwide and Top 50 in the Western Region of China" ranking. 81 towns in Guangdong Province are listed, with 14 towns of Foshan included. Among them, Shishan Town in Nanhai District ranked 2nd nationwide, making it the highest-ranking town in Guangdong Province. Beijiao Town in Shunde District also secured a spot in the top 10 of the ranking. Additionally, the following towns of Foshan are also included in the Top 500 list: Dali Town, Lishui Town, Xiqiao Town, Danzao Town and Jiujiang Town in Nanhai District, Leping Town in Sanshui District, Lecong Town, Xingtan Town, Longjiang Town, Chencun Town and Jun'an Town in Shunde District as well as Nanzhuang Town in Chancheng District.

For this year's ranking, the evaluation criteria sets a "single threshold", which requires the town to have a general public budget revenue of at least 150 million yuan. The comprehensive evaluation was conducted from four aspects: economic strength, development level, industrial level, and consumer purchasing power.
