Recently, the signing ceremony of the first Chinese Cultural Exchange Base for Hong Kong students (hereinafter referred to as "Exchange Base") in the Guangdong Hong-Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area was held at the Sky City (Foshan Hong Kong City). In the future, the exchange base will be developed into a research and learning exchange center with a total area of 2000-3000 square meters.

Liao Guojin, the Deputy Director of the Sanlongwan Development Bureau (Nanhai Area), mentioned that the area was designated as a high-end cooperation zone for Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao back in 2015. It's strategically located, with quick access to Guangzhou South Railway Station and core areas like Guangzhou Zhujiang New Town. In recent years, it has attracted talent resources and embrace innovation while improving its facilities.

Once the project is completed, it is expected to attract approximately 15,000 young students from Hong Kong for visits and exchange study each year.

Unlike common museums or exhibition halls, the Base will present the development of China's five-thousand-year civilization via a timeline. It will provide a panoramic view of the history and culture of China, aiming to cultivate cultural identity and national pride among young people.

This base offers approximately 1300 square meters of immersive interactive space for Chinese culture, around 400-square-meters new-media interactive space for interesting history and culture, and 300 square meters for learning and conferences. It is not only an innovative educational and exchange venue but also a dynamic representation of Chinese history and culture.

Meanwhile, the Sanlongwan Nanhai Area has also made new progress in introducing Hong Kong science and technology innovation projects. On the same day, another project called the "Foshan-Hong Kong Education Technology Base" was signed. Once completed, this base will serve as an educational technology experience center in Foshan and is expected to introduce ten educational technology companies in the future.
