With the total investment of over 5 billion yuan, a comprehensive industrial base integrating "verification, research and development, testing, production, and services" will be built in Foshan Sanlongwan Sci-Tech City (hereinafter referred to as "Sanlongwan"). This project is expected to generate tax revenue of 220 million yuan annually.

On March 8, 2024, Nanhai Industrial Group successfully bade for about 275-Mu industrial land in Brilliance Industrial Start-up Area of Sanlongwan (Nanhai Area). This marks another milestone in the development of the trillion-yuan information equipment cluster, following the auction of two plots of land in Linyue South last December.

Setting three "mosts" for land auctions this year

The industrial land auctioned this time is located at the core of the Guangzhou-Foshan border, covering an area of 275 mu, making it the largest industrial land sold in Foshan in the first 3 months. Meanwhile, the total investment is expected to exceed 5 billion yuan, with an annual tax revenue of 220 million yuan, making it also the largest manufacturing project investment so far.

Since December last year, Sanlongwan (Nanhai District) has successively auctioned off three industrial plots of land in less than three months, totaling 413 mu. These plots are all located in the Linyue South Area, an excellent location nearby Guangzhou South Railway Station. To achieve the blueprint of Foshan's "Double Ten Parks" and Nanhai's "Information Equipment Trillion-Yuan Cluster", the area has been sprinting at full speed to promote the high-standard construction and development of advanced manufacturing industrial parks in Foshan.

Activating new momentum with the "Brilliance" initiative

New productivity arises from revolutionary technological breakthroughs, innovative allocation of production factors, and industrial transformation and upgrading. On January 23, Guangdong Province proposed in its government work report to deepen the implementation of projects such as "Guangdong Strong Core," core software breakthroughs, and the "Brilliance Action" to achieve technical breakthroughs.

Zheng Ke, Vice Chairman of the Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and Secretary of the Foshan Municipal Committee, stated that to further enhance Foshan's manufacturing industry, Foshan must take the path of integrating industry with technology. Sanlongwan (Nanhai Area), with the Jihua Laboratory as its engine, actively explores new paths for organic integration of capital markets and technological innovation, activating new momentum for high-quality development.

Serving for the scientific transformation and industrialization of Jihua Laboratory, the project will construct a comprehensive industrial base integrating "verification, research and development, testing, production, and services." in a land of 275 mu. In addition, Nanhai Industrial Group will also jointly build a technology verification platform with the Jihua Laboratory, with a total investment of no less than 500 million yuan, for high-end technology verification, research and development, and testing.

Furthermore, the park will focus on attracting the upstream and downstream enterprises of the industrial chain, in the fields of new display equipment, electronic information equipment, semiconductor packaging and design. It aims to strength the collaboration along the industrial chain of information equipment manufacturing, and to create a trillion-yuan industrial cluster and a high-standard Foshan advanced manufacturing industry park.

Gateway of Guangzhou and Foshan to embrace numerous opportunities

Sanlongwan (Nanhai Area) is the central science and technology zone of Sanlongwan, the "scientific and technological extreme core" of the demonstration area for high-quality cooperation among Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao, and the leading area of the "1+4" integration pilot zone for high-quality development of Guangzhou and Foshan.

The land parcel auctioned is located in the Linyue South Area, adjacent to Haiyi Bridge and Linyue West Station of Foshan Metro Line 2. Additionally, it is only 3 kilometers (or 5-minute drive) away from Guangzhou South Railway Station, with the Guangfo West and Guangzhou-Zhuhai West Expressways surrounded. It is considered as one of the best located and largest industrial plots of land at the border of Guangzhou and Foshan.

In the future, based on the existing five Guangzhou-Foshan road connections, Sanlongwan (Nanhai Area) will further expanded with three additional roads, northward extension of the Science and Technology Innovation Avenue, the eastward extension of Changjiang Road, and the eastward extension of Nanshe Road.

The future completion of Foshan Metro Line 11 will connect north and south, linking Liwan (Guangzhou) with Shunde (Foshan). Therefore, the location advantages of Sanlongwan (Nanhai Area) will be further leveraged and magnified.

On February 19, at the Nanhai District High-Quality Development Conference, Jihua Laboratory proposed to optimize the effects of technology innovation on the implementation of the "Hundreds, Thousands, and Millions Project" through several perspectives. It suggests that high engagement in the construction of the advanced manufacturing industrial parks for information equipment, and support for scientific transformation and enterprise cultivation would be the key factors. The successful auction of the land parcel is considered as a strong commitment to this suggestion.
