In 2018, Foshans investment in innovation has broken the historical record, with 1402 new National high-tech enterprises in Foshan, with a year-on-year increase of 55%. There were 5 new key laboratories, 95 incubators at all levels, 65 co-working spaces and 737 innovation platforms at or above the provincial level, remaining the second place in Guangdong province. 

 

 

Over the past year, Foshan has continued to deepen cooperation with different institutions and made new breakthroughs in the construction of major innovation platforms. Among them, Jihua Lab was the first to formulate a series of rules and regulations among the first batch of four provincial laboratories, the first to start infrastructure construction, the first to establish real property rights, the first to carry out the introduction of scientific research teams. At present, Jihua Lab has introduced high-level talent team from Singapore and Japan and a number of domestic excellent PhD graduates. 

 

At the same time, Foshan actively explores a new mode of cooperation between schools and places, sets up Tsinghua Universitys first local cooperative research institute--the Foshan Advanced Manufacturing Research Institute of Tsinghua University, and sets up the Tsinghua University Special Fund for Innovation in Foshan, which strongly supports the cooperation projects between Tsinghua University and Foshan enterprises. 

  

Foshan also gives full play to the role of Foshan Innovation and Incubation Center for Industry Technology . CAS and introduces scientific and technological innovation team through various channels. Over the past year, Foshan had introduced 48 new innovative talent teams and 168 high-level talents to further optimize Foshans talent structure.
