With the goal to be a leading intelligent manufacturing city, Foshan has implemented the Project 100 of Intelligent Production. This year, 100 robot demonstration production lines will be established in traditional industry such as Ceramics, textile, home appliances. Foshan is to become the leading city with advanced equipment in manufacturing industry by west bank of Pearl River west.

Foshan has built the Financial and Economic Zone in Nanhai to the advantage of the financial development of Guandzhou, Hongkong and Macao. There are more than 252 projects introduced and notable financial center set up like HSBC Global Operation Center, KPMGs global business services center, CGB Financial Center. Total fund of 52.5 billion yuan has been raised. In addition, Foshan will build his own free trade zone according to the reform experience.

Foshan puts more than 2 billion yuan into building a innovation city ever year. In 2015, investment in R&D takes 2.6% of GDP, an increase of 0.95%. Zhu Wei reinforced that technology research center and key laboratory in enterprises are highly encouraged. 1000 high technology corporations with 20% research institutes are to be developed this year.

To adopt to the new trend of economic development, Foshan announced the work plan on maintaining steady economic growth last May. 31 explicit measures are proposed to keep the steady economic growth. Last Dec, the citys Private Entrepreneurs Conference was held in Foshan. 40 measures are to be taken to lower the price, help funding, boost innovation, open the market and strengthen the security system, which will provide a better business environment for private enterprises.
