Foshan Ceramic Art Nomination Exhibition is the annual brand cultural activity of Foshan Federation of Literary and Art Circles. Founded in 2014, the exhibition has been held for five consecutive years and the total number of works participating in the exhibition has reached 200, cultivating nearly 100 emerging ceramic artists for Foshan. This nominating exhibition is the preparation for the 13th National Art Exhibition, and it provides a platform for young and middle-aged ceramic talents in Foshan to study, display, communicate and promote.

Most of the exhibitors were young ceramic workers graduating from academies, and some were inheritors of Shiwans traditional ceramic techniques. Their ceramic works not only inherit the traditional techniques, but also present a rich modern artistic style. For example, Liu Yongjuns "About Quyi" and Qu Lixins "Perspectives" on the basis of Shiwan ceramic art made a breakthrough on Shiwan ceramic innovation. They not only showed the feature of Shiwan ceramic but also presents the beauty of traditional Chinese Painting in terms of structure, shape, color and etc.

Zhong Rurong, chairman of Foshan Association of Arts said, these new ceramic artists have their ideas no matter in color adoption or modern ideas, which reflects the innovative spirit of Shiwan young ceramic artists and injects vitality into the overall Shiwan ceramic industry.
