On May 6, SEW successfully bid for a plot of land (about 240 acres) in Shunde with 215.9 million yuan. The project is expected to have a cumulative total investment of more than 10 billion yuan and will be the largest manufacturing base of SEW in South China.
The German SEW South China Manufacturing Base Project (hereinafter referred to as "SEW Project") has a total land area of about 392 acres, which will be constructed in two phases and be completed and put into operation in 2026. After completion, Shunde's robot and automation equipment manufacturing enterprises will be deeply empowered, attracting and driving the upstream and downstream enterprises of the industrial chain.
Established in Germany, 1931, the SEW company is an international group specializing in the production of various series of motors, reducers, and frequency conversion control equipments. Its products are widely used in aviation, automobiles, machinery and other fields. SEW's reducer and motor have been ranking among the top three in the world's market share.
The SEW project plans to introduce the most advanced intelligent manufacturing equipment and technology to build intelligent manufacturing base, intelligent manufacturing model factory and sales center in Greater Bay Area. Additionally, it will also provide systematical solutions for project planning, hardware production, software design and operation guarantee.
Shunde is now accelerating the cultivation of its 100-billion-level robot industry cluster. Shunde Investment Promotion Bureau comments that after completion, it will further promote the growth of Shunde’s high-end equipment manufacturing and intelligent robot industry, providing strong support for high-quality development.
