Foshan held the first Rakuten - Foshan Industry Matchmaking Conference

On the afternoon of April 20, Foshan successfully held the "Enjoy Cross-border Business" 2023 Rakuten - Foshan Industry Matchmaking Conference, attracting more than 200 representatives of cross-border e-commerce enterprises and business associations to attend.



The trade volume between Foshan and Japan has exceeded 4.36 billion US dollars in 2022. Since the establishment of the China (Foshan) Cross-border E-commerce Pilot Zone in 2019, Foshan enterprises have made remarkable achievements in the expansion towards Japanese market In 2022, the cross-border e-commerce trade volume between Foshan and Japan has reached 10.16 billion yuan, with a rapid year-on-year increase of 29.5%. Foshan's products, such as mechanical and electrical products, furniture, plastic, and food, are popular in Japanese market.


This conference is one of the series investment promotion events held by Rakuten Japan, also the first matching event held in Foshan. In order to assist Foshan enterprises to enter Japanese e-commerce market, the team from Rakuten Shenzhen Branch introduced the characteristics and opportunities of Japanese market to the participating Foshan enterprises. Additionally, representatives of outstanding Chinese sellers on Rakuten platform also shared their operational experience.


At the event, the E-Commerce Department of Foshan Bureau of Commerce also conducted a lecture on Foshan's cross-border e-commerce policies in 2023, further enhancing the driving role of cross-border e-commerce in Foshan's economy.



Huang Tie, Deputy Director of Foshan Bureau of Commerce, commented that the Japanese e-commerce market has great potential and the cooperation between both sides has mutual benefits. Next, Foshan Bureau of Commerce will continue to carry out more cross-border e-commerce matching events, relying on Foshan's advantageous industrial resources to promote the linkage development of "cross-border e-commerce + industrial clusters", and therefore to explore new paths for development.
