March 21 is International Sleep Day. At this special occasion, 2023 China Sleep Health Industry Forum was held in Jiujiang. Tons of professors in various fields and representatives of leading enterprises have attended the forum and exchanged their ideas about the sleep-health industrial cluster in the Greater Bay Area (Jiujiang, Foshan).
During the forum, Jiujiang has signed the strategic collaboration with Chinese Sleep Research Society for the development of sleep-health industrial cluster in GBA.
Manufacturing industry as solid foundation
As the pioneer town for mattress production, Jiujiang has consistently cultivated in sleep-health industry for over 40 years. According to the statistics, global sales of mattress has reached 110 million sets in 2022, while Jiujiang has contributed one tenth of them.
Considered as the top mattress manufacturing country, China's export volume of mattresses is about 12.7 billion yuan, with 27% of them coming from Jiujiang Town.
Forum about future trend
Recently, sleep economy in China has grown rapidly. It is collectively estimated to be worth 400 billion yuan. To better embrace the future trend in sleep-health industry, the forum has invited talents from various fields, including Yuan Qifeng, executive director of Urban Planning Society of China, and Liu Weitao, associate researcher of Guangzhou Academy of Social Science, etc.
It is believed that Jiujiang will ground on the industry foundation and seek for further development in five perspectives, covering the scale of industry, digital intelligence, the promotion of online platform, extension of industrial chain and the cultivation of resources.
