On January 9, Guangdong Shunde Kawasaki Automotive Parts Co., Ltd. (Hereinafter referred to as "Kawasaki Company") headquarters project achieved a comprehensive topping-out, marking a remarkable timeline of only 281 days from project initiation to topping out. With a total investment of 1 billion RMB, the project is set to become a production hub for new energy vehicle components. It’s expected to generate an annual output value of 1.2 billion RMB and contributing nearly 60 million RMB in tax revenue.

Establish a complete industry chain for NEVs parts

Founded in 2011, Kawasaki Company has emerged as a high-tech enterprise rooted in Ronggui, Shunde, focusing on the research, design, and manufacturing of components and complementary products for new energy vehicles. In April 2023, the company successfully bid for two land parcels, including the south of Gui Zhou Avenue and the west of Sui Cheng Zongyi Road in Ronggui Sub-district, earmarked for the construction of its headquarters project. Groundbreaking for Kawasaki Company's headquarters project took place on June 30 of the same year.

The Kawasaki Company's headquarters project covers an area of approximately 52.35 mu, with a total investment of 1 billion RMB. It encompasses facilities such as research and development offices, production workshops, and employee living quarters. Leveraging intelligent equipment and cloud-integrated technologies, Kawasaki Company is set to establish an Industry 4.0 digital intelligent factory. Additionally, the project will also build an innovative research and development center along with laboratories, aiming to create a comprehensive industry chain for new energy vehicle component manufacturing that integrates product development, manufacturing, and sales.

With the comprehensive topping-out of the project, it is expected to be completed and operational by June 2024, making it Shunde's first production hub for new energy vehicle components, including automotive rearview mirrors, wiring harnesses, lights, interior and exterior accessories, as well as charging port assemblies. Following the commencement of operations at the headquarters project, Kawasaki Company aims to expand its product range and customer base, enhancing its market share in the automotive parts industry. The project is expected to achieve an annual output value of 1.2 billion RMB, contributing nearly 60 million RMB in tax revenue.

Continuously enhance the "intelligence content" of manufacturing

It is introduced that the region where the Kawasaki Company's headquarters project located is a newly planned and strategically emerging industrial development zone in Ronggui. It also serves as a vital platform for Ronggui's comprehensive layout of strategic emerging industries, supporting the leading role of the manufacturing sector. Covering a total area of 16 square kilometers, equivalent to approximately 24,000 mu, the area has already attracted 14 key projects from provinces and cities, including Shunxin City, Panasonic Environment, Orbotech, Midea Ruizhu Zhugong, Lianbai Headquarters, and Jiesheng Thermal Technology. Notably, 12 of these projects, constituting 86% of the total, belong to strategic emerging industries.

On January 3, groundbreaking ceremony took place for the construction of Orbotech's 3D Vision Perception Industry Intelligent Manufacturing Base. The project envisions establishing a specialized park covering over 100,000 square meters, driving the development of the company's 3D vision perception product brand and globalization. It is poised to generate a clustering effect for the robotics industry in Shunde, promoting long-term industrial development.

In the upcoming phase, Ronggui Sub-District will expedite the land consolidation of the strategic emerging industrial development zone, allocating development land not less than 2,000 mu for next-generation strategic emerging industries including electronic information, complementary facilities for new energy vehicles, biopharmaceuticals and health, mechanical equipment, and more. The anticipated total output value of the area is expected to reach 40 billion RMB.
