On January 16, the groundbreaking ceremony for the Gaoming Hydrogen Equipment Intelligent Manufacturing Project was held in Genghe Town, Gaoming District, Foshan. This event marks the official commencement of the construction phase for Guangdong Province's first fully certified and energy-efficient electrolytic water hydrogen production and hydrogenation integrated station.

The ground breaking ceremony

The project aims to establish a hydrogen equipment intelligent manufacturing base, creating a gigawatt-level automated and digitized production base for electrolytic water hydrogen production equipment. The project is designed to produce 300 sets of hydrogen production equipment annually with a capacity of 1000Nm³/h, along with the construction of an application demonstration area (3000KG-class productive and integrated hydrogenation demonstration station), testing platforms, and a research and development office area. The total investment is approximately 363 million yuan, and after reaching full production capacity, it is expected to contribute around 2.431 billion yuan to the annual gross domestic product.

Gaoming District Hydrogen Equipment Intelligent Manufacturing Project

The first phase of construction is underway for the 3000KG-class Integrated Hydrogenation Demonstration Station. Mr. Chen Yaofu, General Manager of Fotie Hydrogen Development Co., Ltd., expressed that this project falls under the category of in-station hydrogen production and hydrogenation mother station. With a daily hydrogen production and hydrogenation capacity of 3000 kilograms, it is poised to meet the practical needs of 350 hydrogen-powered vehicles in Foshan.

Fotie Hydrogen Development Co., Ltd. is a joint venture formed by Shenzhen Kohodo Hydrogen Energy Co., Ltd. and Foshan Metro Group Co., Ltd. It operates as a comprehensive new energy enterprise, encompassing design, research and development, manufacturing, hydrogen storage, and transportation.

This project will leverage the respective resource advantages of the two groups. Besides achieving self-sufficiency in hydrogen production within the station, it will also serve as an emergency hydrogen supply source for surrounding hydrogenation stations. Furthermore, as an integrated station, it incurs no transportation costs or associated safety risks, actively contributing to reducing the cost of terminal hydrogen and minimizing safety risks in urban road transportation.

In the future, Fotie Hydrogen Development Co., Ltd. plans to replicate the success of this project, fully leveraging the advantages of Kohodo and Metro Group's advantages in the hydrogen energy industry. Drawing on the strategic layout of the Pearl River Delta hub airport, the company aims to construct integrated electrolytic water hydrogen production and hydrogenation stations, as well as comprehensive energy supply stations. This initiative is intended to provide hydrogen infrastructure and ensure a stable hydrogen supply, contributing to the development of hydrogen industry in Foshan.
