On March 12, No. 1 Plot of Qingyuan Industrial Zone in Shunde, Foshan, was bidden by Foshan Yuyuan Supply Chain Management Co., Ltd. The plot will be developed into the JD (Foshan) Smart Industry Base, propelling Shunde's development in the smart manufacturing industry.

The project covers a land area of approximately 203 mu, with a planned total investment of about 2.5 billion yuan, of which about 1 billion yuan was fixed asset investment. After reaching full production capacity, it is expected to achieve an annual output value of 2.5 billion yuan, contributing over 100 million yuan in tax revenue annually. The project aims to establish three major business centers: research and development (referred to as "R&D") and manufacturing centers for industries like home appliances and hardware, a smart supply chain center, and an Online-to-Offline (OTO) trading and operation center.

The successful bidder, Foshan Yuyuan Supply Chain Management Co., Ltd., is a wholly-owned subsidiary of JD Intelligent Manufacturing Co., Ltd. (referred to as "JD Manufacturing"). With infrastructure construction, asset management, and comprehensive services as its specialty, JD Manufacturing aims to become a global leader in infrastructure construction and operation based on intelligent industrial park development.

Notably, the R&D and manufacturing centers will serve for JD's lifestyle brand "JD J.ZAO." Since its establishment in 2018, JD J.ZAO has built 15 major categories covering 4500+ SKUs and established 500+ partners. It has successfully provided a one-stop shopping experience of various high-quality products, including production, sales, distribution, and after-sales service.

JD's landing in Foshan not only benefits from Shunde's business environment but also relies on the coordinated investment promotion strategy implemented by the Shunde Investment Promotion Bureau and relevant district and township departments.

By 2023, Shunde has achieved a total contracted investment for exceeding one trillion yuan. Last year, Shunde further intensified investment promotion efforts, attracting projects such as Orbbec project, the world's top three firm in the intelligent visual perception. These projects fill the gap in industrial robot visual perception, solve the deficiency of chips in smart home appliances, and effectively promote the development of the intelligent manufacturing industry in Shunde district, Foshan.

From January to February, Shunde's investment promotion team have signed contracts for 25 industrial projects worth over 100 million yuan, with a total investment exceeding 18 billion yuan. Among them, eight projects are worth over one billion yuan, totaling an investment of over 13 billion yuan, of which three of them have already commenced construction.

Next, Shunde will continue to focus on digital transformation in some important industries such as equipment manufacturing and smart furniture, strengthen internal and external linkage, promoting Shunde to build the most friendly and strong manufacturing district.
