Recently, Foshan's inaugural comprehensive bonded zone has received official approval from the State Council. This approval represents another major milestone in Foshan's outward development, following the previous approval for the establishment of the Guangdong Pilot Free Trade Zone. It signals a new phase in Foshan's open economic development. This approval will play a pivotal role in key areas such as boosting foreign trade, attracting foreign investment, and advancing industrial upgrading.

Covering 1.13 square kilometers, it stretches from the planned Bai'an Road in the east to Gaofu Road in the south, and from the planned Shugang Zong Yi Road in the west to the planned Qixing Road in the north.

This area boasts a significant geographical advantage. On one hand, it is only 1-1.5 hours away from Foshan Shadi Airport, the Pearl River Delta International Airport (Guangzhou New Airport) (under construction), and Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport. Simultaneously, it stands merely 1.5 kilometers away from Shunde New Port, the largest river-sea intermodal port in the west bank area of the Pearl River, connecting with Rongqi Port, Beijiao Port, and Leliu Port, linking Shunde, Nanhai, Jiangmen, and surrounding crucial import-export trade zones. The superior location of the Foshan Comprehensive Bonded Zone provides high-efficiency advantages for carrying out export-oriented manufacturing, goods distribution, transshipment trade, and cross-border logistics operations.

As a globally renowned hub for advanced manufacturing, Foshan boasts a robust manufacturing base with a closely interlinked industrial chain. It has established a series of distinct specialized bases for advanced equipment manufacturing, housing a cluster of prominent leading enterprises. The approval of the Zone will inject robust momentum into Foshan's high-quality development.

It's worth mentioning that in 2022, the Foshan Linkage Development Zone in the Guangdong Free Trade Zone was approved. The Foshan Comprehensive Bonded Zone, serving as a key platform for customs supervision system innovation, will play a crucial role in "linkage trials, collaborative innovation, and resource sharing" with other areas, driving the construction of a high-level open platform.

The approval of the comprehensive bonded zone is a major development opportunity for Foshan. Through innovation, platform construction, investment attraction, environmental improvement, and regional collaboration, Foshan aims to transform the zone into a high-level demonstration area for outward opening and industrial transformation.
