Le An Lantern Festival has attracted many citizens who come from different areas in five districts or even from the Pearl River Delta area. People who come to visit here not only for buy a special and delicate lantern, they want more to feel the rich folk atmosphere.

When stepping into the “Le An Lantern zone”, you can feel the bustling atmosphere. There you can find colorful lanterns that are chosen for this special occasion, making it like a gorgeous river lying on the land.

This year, more than 600 booths at the Lantern Party are divided into different functional sections, including the Lantern area, bonsai area and windmill area etc., making it more convenient for citizens to purchase their needed articles.

“I used to come to visit the Lantern Festival every year, and I will buy several windmills back home. The windmill will be blowing throughout the year, praying for being smooth in the coming year”

Married couples will buy lanterns back home to hang in their houses. Lanterns has the implied meaning of praying for a child, which makes it popular among local people.

On the 9th day of the Lunar Year, beside the beautiful Xiao De Lake, there is also another activity called Feast of two thousand of elders for charity purpose. About 2 thousand of elders gather here to share the free banquet.

This activity is one of the customs in local place, which expresses a sense of filial to the elders. It’s famous because of this respectful tradition.

The elders started to move their chopsticks. The filial atmosphere is becoming more and more profound.
