On July 11th, “Dragon Boat experience for foreign friends” was held by Foshan International Talents Hub (Sanlongwan), (hereinafter referred to as “ Talents Hub”). Over 50 foreign friends have attended this event, explored the culture of dragon boat, and physically engaged in a real battle.
Visit the exhibition, explore the culture
As the home of dragon boats, Foshan has a long history in relevant culture and competition. It is said that there are hundreds of dragon boat racings every year in Foshan. In Sanlongwan, known as the half-green city, with over 400 kilometres of bank lines and vast ecological parks, it has been selected to host many large dragon-boat competitions.
Through the tour to the exhibitions, foreign friends explored the history and colourful culture of dragon boat with detail illustration. Additionally, the exhibition presents the development and victory of Lecong dragon boat team. They were impressed by how great the team is and took photos of it.

KONG LING TECK is a math and physics teacher from Eaton International School in Singapore. It was the first time for him to join the dragon boat race with foreign friends in Foshan. "Through this activity, we learned about the dragon boat culture and met more foreign friends. This is a fruitful learning journey. I hope Sanlongwan can hold more relevant activities in the future.” KONG LING TECK said.
Zheng Canru, vice chairman of Foshan CPPCC and executive chairman of Foshan Public Diplomacy Association, said that Foshan owns the reputation of Chinese Martial Arts City, the City of Gastronomy, the City of Lion Dance and Dragon Boat, the famous Pottery Capital in southern China, and the Hometown of Cantonese Opera. As an one-stop service platform to help Foshan build a highland for talents in the Greater Bay Area and create a world-class business environment, Zheng hoped foreign friends could fully experience the fun in the event and at the same time, they can share their experience with their relatives and friends, so that more people will get to know Foshan.
As an one-stop service platform to help Foshan build a highland for talents in the Greater Bay Area and create a world-class business environment, the Talents Hub, which was launched in December 2021, has provided more than 50 consulting services for more than 30 domestic and foreign enterprises, covering more than 40 foreigners, and provided warm and professional services for high-level talents in their life, employment and work in Foshan.
In the future, the Talents Hub will continue to launch more international talents exchanges and strive to build a corporate service system centered around “All For You” policy package.
