On May 31, Forest Carnival and the first Firefly Tourism Festival were launched in the Firefly Forest Campsite of Jiudao Valley in Nanshan Town, Sanshui. The three-month event, concluding on August 30, mainly consists of firefly forest exploration, photography competition and camping, aiming to provide a chance for tourists to feel the natural beauty of Nanshan and charm of its culture.

In order to provide enjoyable experience for visitors, it has set up the viewing area, live broadcast and campisite by the firefly forest. Moreover, there will be Chinese zither performance, children's dance and other fabulous activities during the festival, through which visitors can immerse themselves in the wonderfulness of nature.

Remarkably, there are also an insect museum and butterfly viewing areas within the campsite, where people are able to see different kinds of insects and explore the mystery of nature.

By the event, Nanshan aims to explore a new tourism development mode of all-for-one tourism featuring the integration of agriculture, culture and tourism. Furthermore, it is also a new practice for Nanshan to develop Hands-on Inquiry Based Learning and create new highlights in cultural and tourism industry. In recent years, Nanshan has actively promoted a diversified and global development of cultural tourism and endeavored to shape the brand of "Taste Nanshan".
