Tired of the modern beauty of skyscrapers in Foshan? Why not escape into the forest this summer for a "lung-cleansing" journey and experience the grandeur of the mountains.

Arriving at Wangjiegang Forest Park, you will be greeted by a majestic entrance archway, and beyond it lies the volcanic park.

Wangjiegang Forest Park, situated 8 kilometers northwest of Foshan City in Zhangcha Sub-District, Chancheng District, is a place with natural beauty. Surrounded by picturesque mountains and bordered by the Dongping River to the west and the Fen River to the north, it offers a breathtaking view of the entire city from its summit. The serene landscape and stunning vistas make it a truly enchanting destination.

As a circular isolated mountain covering an area of 0.14 square kilometers, Wangjiegang Forest Park has a history dating back to approximately 52 million years ago when it was a volcanic lake spanning around 11,000 square meters. Visitors can stand on the observation platform and enjoy a close-up view of the ancient volcanic site. The summit of the park is the highest point in Chancheng District.

At the site of the ancient volcanic relic, visitors can witness the unique geology of the volcano and gain knowledge about basalt. They can also enjoy the beauty of the crystal-clear volcanic lake.

The volcano, which existed millions of years ago, has now become a beautiful and fertile land. Citizens can engage in activities such as jogging and cycling, immersing themselves in the lush greenery and savoring the moments of tranquility. They can breathe in the fresh air and enjoy the rare negative ions in the urban environment.

Over the past few years, Wangjiegang Forest Park has undergone a remarkable transformation. By modifying old factory buildings and expanding fitness and recreational areas, the park has become a paradise for young people. In addition, the 5-kilometer running track connected with green pathways has further enhanced its appeal to young generation.
