The Nanhai Dragon Boat Super League will hold a Dragon Boat Race on June 10, featuring preliminary heats in the morning and finals in the afternoon.
74 dragon boat teams from Guicheng and Dali will compete in 19 groups for the men's 23-person standard dragon boat races over a distance of 300 meters. In the afternoon, 16 teams that have entered the finals will compete for the "Li Gui Dragon King" with passion and speed on the water.
As the Dragon Boat Festival draws near, the dragon boat teams of various communities in Guicheng have started rigorous night training, preparing for the upcoming Li Gui Dragon Boat Race and Diejiao Dragon Boat Race.
The Guicheng Diebei Qingyun team, which won the "Li Gui Dragon King" in 2016, is also actively preparing for the competition. According to Coach Li Yongjing, since the team members need to work during the day, they have to train from 8:30 pm to 11:30 pm at night.
