The Diejiao Dragon Boat Drifting event in Foshan, Guangdong, has nearly 500 years of history and is recognized as an intangible cultural heritage event. For centuries, generations in Diejiao have paddled dragon boats through its narrow, winding river channels.

On May 28, 2024, as the Dragon Boat Festival approaches, the annual dragon boat drifting competition was hosted in Diejiao Town, Nanhai District, Foshan. Various dragon boat teams had engaged in intense night training since May 25 in the Diejiao Shengtang to prepare for the official event. In the Diejiao Dragon Boat Drifting event, 30 to 40 participants on a 25-meter-long dragon boat showcase their wonderful drifting skills, such as thrilling drifts around bends, sharp stops and turns, and rapid sprints in narrow river channels.
