A delegation of teachers and students from Itami, Japan visited Foshan

This year marks the 34th year that Foshan established friendly relations with Itami. On March 22, Tan Ping, Deputy Mayor of the Foshan Municipal Government, met with a delegation of 10 teachers and students from Itami, Japan.

“Hello, everyone!” On March 22th, the delegation greeted in Chinese. In order to prepare well for this visit, they utilized their weekend time to learn simple Chinese and Cantonese. "Those children’s Chinese is fluent and standard." Tan Ping said that it also demonstrates that Foshan and Itami are good friends for many years.
 
 
In 1985, Foshan and Itami officially signed an agreement on the establishment of a sister city relationship. Since 1997, the two sides have exchanged visits between teachers and students every year.
 
Tan Ping introduced the general situation of Foshan to the delegation. She hoped that this visit would strengthen exchanges between the youths of the two cities and enhance the friendship between the two cities. The leader of the delegation said that visiting Foshan is a rare and precious experience and he would convey the friendship of Foshan to the teachers and students after returning to Japan.
 
 
“I want to make friends with Foshan’s middle school students, and I desire to know more about the food culture here.” A student from the delegation said happily that after returning to Japan, he would tell his friend this “delicacy city”.
 
 
The delegation also visited the Ancestral Temple, the Ancient Nanfeng Kiln, and the Foshan Itami Friendship Exchange Center.
