Recently, Department of Education of Guangdong Province released a notice to announce 13 experimental zones for high-quality development of basic education and 15 demonstration zones for high-quality development of basic education.

Foshan's five districts Chancheng, Nanhai, Shunde, Gaoming and Sanshui are among the 15 demonstration zones for high-quality development of basic education.

In the experimental and demonstration zones, primary and secondary schools and kindergartens should be constructed to increase enrollment quotas. Over 5 basic education groups will be set up in the demonstration areas and over 5 urban and rural education communities will be set up in the experimental areas. The leading role of high-quality education will be enhanced and targeted support will be provided. Township central kindergartens, central elementary schools and boarding schools will be well managed. The quality of all types of primary and secondary schools, especially rural schools will be improved. And the structure of the teaching staff will be optimized.

Meanwhile, an interconnected and shared quality internet resource system will be established. Reform will be carried out in teaching content, methods and evaluation system of basic education. Education for all-round development will be implemented.
