In order to facilitate regular interaction and exchange between Tsinghua University and Foshan, and to support Foshan to become a hub for talents and innovation in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, the Foshan Municipal Human Resources and Social Security Bureau organized an activity themed "Explore the Manufacturing City, Enjoy the Charm of Foshan", inviting students from Tsinghua University to visit Foshan.

During the five-day trip, more than 20 teachers and students (including 8 PhDs and 8 Masters) from six departments of Tsinghua University visit several Foshan companies, interact with outstanding alumni, and visit powerful sci-tech platforms such as Jihua Laboratory, Midea Group, Leaguer Sci-Tech. They also had the chance to visit cultural landmarks unique to the Lingnan region, including the Nanhai Museum and Wong Fei-hung Hall. Additionally, they savored the flavors of Dim Sum and Shunde double-skinned milk, immersing themselves in Foshan’s cultural heritage.

Su Yan, Secretary of the Party Group and Director of the Foshan Municipal Human Resources and Social Security Bureau, introduced Foshan to the students of Tsinghua University from the aspects of cultural heritage, talent policy, innovation and entrepreneurship policy, and living facilities. "Foshan currently has more than 800 Tsinghua alumni who are changing this city. I hope this event can let students better understand Foshan, immerse themselves in the charm of Foshan, and ultimately choose to stay and root in Foshan, pushing Foshan's high-quality development onto a new level."

At the alumni exchange meeting, several outstanding Tsinghua alumni who started businesses in Foshan had a "face-to-face" interaction with their juniors, sharing their stories of realizing their dreams in Foshan from a first-hand perspective, enthusiastically promoting the industry, economy, and culture of Foshan, aiming to attract more outstanding talents to work and live here.

Chen Yiyu, a local from Guicheng, Nanhai District, Foshan, is currently pursuing a master's degree in the Department of Foreign Languages at Tsinghua University. He expressed his desire to use this opportunity to gain insights into the current development of his hometown and promote Foshan to more fellow students. Upon completing his academic achievements, he plans to return to Foshan and contribute to its development.

Liu Meiling, the Head of the General Affairs Department at Tsinghua University Foshan Advanced Manufacturing Research Institute, is leading the student group for this activity. She mentioned that earlier this year, 80 students from Tsinghua University visited Foshan and found the experience helpful in gaining a comprehensive understanding of the city. The positive feedback from that visit motivated them to organize this event again, with the aim to provide students with a deeper understanding of Foshan's industries and cultural development, attracting them to seek employment and contribute to the high-quality development of the Greater Bay Area.
