Shunde Grand Bridge to open in the first half of 2025

New progress has recently been made for Shunde Grand Bridge. By now, the project is 34% done, and the investment spent has added up to 620 million yuan. The bridge is expected to be capped in October 2023. The project is expected to be completed in October 2024 and open to traffic in the first half of 2025.



The overall investment is 2.5 billion, with 54 months of construction time. Located in the east side of Shunde Port, the main bridge and approach bridge span 2.62 kilometers. Geographically, it crosses the Ronggui Waterway and accesses at the Ronggui outer Ring Road in the end.



The length of the main bridge is 992.5 meters, and 626 meters of the main span bridge are across the Ronggui Waterway. It has eight lanes in two directions, and there are also shared paths for sidewalks and non-motorized lanes.


When finished, the bridge will ease the hectic traffic on Rongqi Bridge and Desheng Bridge. It will help build greater interconnectivity between Daliang and Ronggui Community, and ultimately, intergration between Guangzhou and Foshan.
