On February 22, the Guangzhou-Foshan South Ring Line and Foshan-Dongguan Intercity Railways has passed static acceptance and officially entered the dynamic acceptance phase according to Guangzhou Metro Group. This development will make travel between Foshan, Guangzhou, and Dongguan more convenient for citizens.

Dynamic acceptance is a comprehensive inspection and validation process conducted after the static acceptance, involving system-wide joint debugging, dynamic testing, and trial operation.
Linking cities among Greater Bay Area
The Guangzhou-Foshan South Ring Line Railway connects the major transportation hubs of Foshan West Railway Station and Guangzhou South Railway Station. Upon completion, it will operate in conjunction with the Foshan-Zhaoqing, Foshan-Dongguan, and Dongguan-Huizhou intercity railways.
Furthermore, the Guangzhou-Foshan South Ring Line and Foshan-Dongguan railways will connect to the already operational Foshan-Zhaoqing (from Zhaoqing Station to Foshan West Station) and Dongguan-Huizhou (from Dongguan West Railway Station to Xiaojinkou Station) lines respectively. Once these two intercity lines are operational, they will form a major east-west arterial route from Zhaoqing to Huizhou.
As the Foshan-Dongguan Intercity Railway extends from the Intercity Panyu Station (located southeast underground of Guangzhou South Railway Station), Foshan residents will be able to travel directly to downtown Dongguan upon its opening.
The starting point of the Guangzhou-Foshan South Ring Line Railway is Foshan West Railway Station, and the terminal station is Guangzhou South Railway Station, with a total of 5 stations including Zhangcha Station, Beijiao West Station, Shunde North Station, Chencun Station, and Panyu Station, covering a total distance of 35.001 km.

The Foshan-Dongguan Intercity Railway extends from the Intercity Panyu Station (located southeast underground of Guangzhou South Railway Station), with 5 newly built stations, terminating at Dongguan West Railway Station, with a total length of 37 kilometers.
The Dongguan-Huizhou Intercity Railway is a rapid railway line connecting Huizhou and Dongguan, which commenced construction in May 2009 and was fully connected on December 28, 2017, covering a total length of 103 kilometers with 18 stations.
The Foshan-Zhaoqing Intercity Railway commenced construction on September 29, 2009, and commenced operation on March 30, 2016.
Multiple intercity lines support E-payments
Recently, Guangdong Intercity Company, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Guangzhou Metro Group, completed the operation handover of the Dongguan-Huizhou and Foshan-Zhaoqing intercity railways with Guangzhou Railway Group, and will proceed to achieve integrated operation of the "four lines" with the Guangzhou-Foshan South Ring Line and Foshan-Dongguan railways.
It is stated that the Dongguan-Huizhou and Foshan-Zhaoqing intercity railways will follow the standards of the Guangqing Intercity (Qingcheng to Huadu) and Guangzhou East Circumferential Intercity (Huadu to Baiyun Airport North), supporting card swiping for travel, and Guangzhou Metro QR code scanning, eliminating the need for online ticket purchases, allowing direct card swiping, and making travel more convenient.
The "metro-like" operation of intercity railways will further allow residents to enjoy the benefits of Greater Bay Area integration. Currently, the Guangqing Intercity (Qingcheng to Huadu) and Guangzhou East Ring Intercity (Huadu to Baiyun Airport North) lines operated by Guangdong Intercity Company have diversified gate card swiping or QR code scanning for entry and boarding.
