On July 25, according to the official news, Foshan's first cross-border bus route passing through the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Link will officially open on August 1. Residents and tourists can board the bus at stops in Ronggui, Jun'an, and Xingtan in Shunde, and travel directly to Shenzhen and Hong Kong via Shenzhen-Zhongshan Link.

As the largest cross-border passenger transport company in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao region, the operator of the direct bus service between Shunde and Hong Kong has already established several cross-border routes and related services in Daliang, Ronggui, Leliu, Jun'an, Xingtan, and Longjiang.

With the opening of the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Link and the rising trend of Hong Kong residents traveling north for leisure, more and more Hong Kong tourists are visiting Shunde for its culinary delights. Statistics show that nearly 7,000 people take the direct bus from Hong Kong to Shunde each month, with the number doubling during holidays.

Li Yufeng, the Shunde area manager of the bus service said, "We originally had 14 buses daily from Shunde to Hong Kong, some of which had to detour through other towns to get on the highway, resulting in higher time costs." With the opening of the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Link, there are now new options for the Shunde-Hong Kong route, significantly reducing travel time for passengers.

For example, the route from Ronggui to Hong Kong used to start at the Ronggui stop, pass through Daliang, and then connect to the Guangzhou Ring Expressway or the Dongguan-Foshan Expressway to reach Shenzhen. The adjusted route will now take the Guangzhou-Zhuhai West Expressway (Ronggui stop) directly into the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Link, cutting approximately 45 minutes off the travel time.

Li also revealed that despite the reduced travel time, the ticket prices remain unchanged.

Starting August 1, Jun'an and Xingtan will have two buses daily traveling through the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Link to Shenzhen and Hong Kong, while Ronggui will have four buses. Residents and tourists can purchase tickets at the stations or online via the “顺德城市候机楼” WeChat public account.
