"Its so fun to participate in a dragon boat race in Foshan!" "Its interesting to experience such Chinese folk customs!" Recently, a special dragon boat experience tour took place in Sanlongwan!
German friends from Guangzhou and Foshan experienced the excitement of Chinese dragon boats in Sanlongwan and tried making Zongzi for the first time. Through the activity, they learned about the traditional Chinese dragon boat culture, and better understood the development of Foshan.
On the day of the event, the coaches and team members of Shunde Lecong Dragon Boat Team gave instruction to German friends, which made all the German participants feel extremely happy and excited, especially when they learned that Lecong Dragon Boat Team has won countless prizes in the world. They all expressed that they wanted to match against the Lecong dragon boat team members.
On the Shaliang River in Shunde, three Sino-German dragon boat teams struggled to glide among gongs and drums and shouts.
"We are so excited!" After the competition, German friends still felt excited even if they were all soaked.
"This is a brand new experience, and I really enjoy it." Klaus Warmedinger, from a German company AEG, has lived and worked in Guangzhou and Foshan for three years. He has known many traditional festivals in China. From his perspective, dragon boating is not only Chinese traditional culture, but also a special sport. "Dragon boat race requires too much arm strength. Once you start the competitive game, everyone must unite and strive forward to achieve the final victory. And strength and cooperation are indispensable."said Klaus Warmedinger.
"When studying dragon boating on the Shaliang River, I like to see the houses on the banks of the river. They are very beautiful. People who live in such good environment should be happy." Klaus Warmedinger working in Guangzhou mentioned that Sanlongwan has strength in the basic construction, and the green and riverside landscape projects are particularly successful.
Similarly, Bruno Hernandez, a German currently working in the Foshan Investment Promotion Center, is responsible for international overseas investment projects, mainly promoting Foshans advantageous manufacturing projects to Europe, America, Japan and South Korea." In fact, many Germans are very willing to experience Chinese culture, learn Chinese language and cuisine, especially young people. I hope more German young people come to Foshan to learn about Foshan, especially Sanlongwan. Because there are many German elements here." Bruno Hernandez said that Sanlongwan could become a platform for cultural exchanges between young people from China and Germany in the future.
"We all love Chinese food, and really appreciate the organizer for the event to let us experience the culture of the Dragon Boat Festival as a foreigner in China." On the night of the event, German friends also experienced the fun of making dumplings on the bank of Dongping River. They also learned about the historical stories and folk customs of the Dragon Boat Festival.
"In Sanlongwan, what impressed us most is the modernization."said Paul Luyeye, who is from Germany and works in a welding equipment company in Guangzhou. On weekends, many Germans working in Guangzhou will prefer to spend their time at Foshan New City and ride a shared bicycle along the Dongping River. "We all like this kind of leisure and relaxation, because the environment and public service facilities are very good, and I have also met many German compatriots here."said Paul Luyeye.
