From July 6-7, a group of Thai students from Guangdong Polytechnic of Water Resources & Electric Engineering embarked on an enriching journey through Foshan, diving into the city's rich history and vibrant local traditions, including Kungfu and fish lantern making.

On July 6, the students visited the Hung Sing Memorial Hall, where they were treated to an exhilarating ChoyLee Fut Kungfu performance. The master demonstrated a variety of Kungfu techniques using unexpected objects like chairs, fans, and towels. The students also had the chance to learn some Kungfu moves themselves, fully immersing in the captivating martial arts culture of Foshan.

The cultural exploration continued on July 7 with a hands-on fish lantern-making session. Recognized as a provincial intangible cultural heritage, the intricate craft of fish lantern making symbolizes wishes for a prosperous future. The students were fascinated by the rich fishing and handicraft traditions of Shunde, gaining a renewed appreciation for Foshan's cultural heritage.

Beyond these activities, the group also visited historical landmarks such as the Ancestral Temple, Tapo Temple (the birthplace of Foshan), and Qinghui Garden, delving into Foshan's remarkable historical legacy.

Many students expressed a strong desire to return, intrigued by Foshan's unique blend of history and culture, and eager to uncover more of what this dynamic city has to offer.
