If you want to unveil the mystery of the earth and trace the origin of life, Shunde Natural Science Museum in Beijiao Town would be a good place to start.
A celebrated opening of Shunde Natural Science Museum
On July 11th, a festive opening ceremony was held for Shunde Natural Science Museum, marking another landmark for tourists in Shunde. Since July 11th, the museum would be on a trial run until it is fully open to the public in August.
Well-arranged as it is, Shunde Natural Science Museum was indeed a joint effort by all sectors of society. Based on a set of well-preserved fossils collected by the local government back in 2007, all parties involved have collected their wisdoms on overall planning, study of feasibility, on-site construction and arrangement of exhibition, shaping the venue as a comprehensive exhibition hall of collection, display, and science education.
The museum houses more than 3,000 natural specimens that includes a rich collection of fossils and rock/mineral gemstones. On the level of overall design, Shunde Natural Science Museum was built in accordance with top international standards. By introducing the latest exhibition models, tourists are lucky enough to have an immersive and interactive experience during their visits.
At the same time, a systematic storyline has also been incorporated into the exhibits, ranging from the Big Bang, formation of the solar system to the birth of the earth. Interesting topics like the origin of life and the entire process of biological evolution are definitely education to a large population, especially the younger generations.
A dreamy and exciting chance to explore science
地球奥秘 Mysteries of the Earth
"Since the beginning of ancient times, who was there to lead the flow of life? Where did the world come into being before it took shape?" When it comes to the universe, heaven, earth and life, there are actually mysteries to be solved.
High as mountains and low as valleys, tourists are able to observe the material circulations of inner circle and the lithosphere.
They might also be interested to explore landforms like faults and folds on interaction-based devices that allow them to know about the process of geological movement in an intuitive way.
You are welcomed here to solve the mystery of minerals as gems and jades are presented as thousand-year-old "craftsmanship" of nature.
生命轨迹 Magical Trace of Life
What time was the earliest when life was born? Where did it originate? How did it evolve? What life had appeared on the earth before?
All these puzzles can be solved if you come here.
Inside the venue, different forms of creatures that had appeared on the Earth were presented on the spectrum of time since the early Archean.
Dinosaurs, once the largest creature on the earth, appeared in the Mesozoic Era. During this period, dinosaurs inhabited almost all over the world, thus this period was also called the "Dinosaur Age".
Fossils of large mammals were also stored here.
Why were the Jurassic dinosaurs this big? What did a dinosaur egg look like? Which one was more powerful, the "tyrant" Tyrannosaurus fed on meat or the "vegetarian warrior”triceratops? Come and find out yourselves.
As summer holiday comes, families and kids can come to Shunde Natural Science Museum for more discovery.
