On December 30th, the Happy Cities of China Forum 2021 was held in Beijing, releasing the 15th Happiest Cities of China List. Foshan takes the pride in entering the list, "2021 Happiest City of China (Prefecture-level Cities)", along with Wenzhou, Taizhou (泰州), Xianyang, Wuxi, Xuzhou, Taizhou (台州), Suzhou, Weihai and Panzhihua. This is the third time that Foshan has been included in this category after 2008 and 2020.

Nanhai District in Foshan was listed as one of the "2021 Chinas Happiest City Districts" (“2021中国最具幸福感城区”)  and "Cities (Districts) with the Strongest Entrepreneurs Sense of Happiness in 2021" [“2021企业家幸福感最强市（区）”]. At the same time, Guicheng Community in Nanhai District was named as "2021 Chinas Happiest City Model Garden City" (“2021中国最具幸福感城市之公园城市典范”).
