Since 2020, Foshan has made intensive efforts in establishing “Pivotal port of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Great Bay Area” service (hereinafter referred as to “pivotal port service”) and integrating customs supervision system, aiming to increase the efficiency of ferry between river ports. From January to May in 2022, the overall volume of Pivotal port has exceeded 1.48 million tons.

Recently, as the customs procedure finished, these two containers of domestic-made vehicles are ready for departure. It represents the start of “Beicun port – Shenzhen Shekou” sailing routine, which is further achievement of Pivotal port service.

Until now, there are six ports adopting pivotal port service.

It is believed that the efficiency would increase significantly with the new system. The completion period of customs procedure will decrease from around a week to 2 days, and the cost of shipping will lower by 30%.
