维拉港市概况

维拉港市是瓦努阿图共和国的首都和最大城市，位于大洋洲埃法特岛西南岸美莱湾，是瓦国经济、文化中心和海运及航运中心。

Port Vila, capital and the largest town  of the Republic of Vanuatu, is located on Mélé Bay, on the southwest coast of Éfatéisland, Oceania. It is the economic and cultural center of Vanuatu and serves as an air and marine transport hub.

维拉港市面积23.06平方公里，总人口约4.4万人，人口构成多样化，除了本土居民，还有来自澳大利亚、新西兰、欧洲、中国、印度等各地侨民。

Port Vila covers an area of 23.06 square kilometers and has a total population of about 44,000 which is multinational, including native inhabitants, Australians, New Zealanders, Europeans, Chinese and Indians.

维拉港市为热带气候，全年分为明显的旱季和雨季，年均降水量达2338.9毫米。维拉港市主要产业为农业、渔业和旅游业。离岸金融业亦是全市经济的重要组成部分。

Port Vila has a tropical climate, with noticeably wetter and drier months. Rainfall averages about 2338.9 mm per year. Major industries in the city are agriculture, fishing and tourism. Offshore financing is also an important part of its economy.

佛山市与维拉港市的友谊之路

2017年6月12日，应维拉港市政府邀请，时任市委常委杨朝晖率团赴瓦访问，拜会了维拉港市市长尤里奇·萨普托，共同签署缔结友好城市关系协议书。

2019年2月，时任市委书记鲁毅会见瓦努阿图瓦库党主席、副总理鲍勃·拉夫曼一行。

佛山与维拉港在2017年6月12日正式缔结友好城市关系。数年来，两市在经济、文化、教育、医疗等领域展开广泛合作，两地政府保持密切联系，瓦国政府高层曾多次访问佛山，对佛山与维拉港市友好交往表示关注与支持。

Foshan and Port Vila officially established sister-city relationship on June 12，2017. Over the years, the two cities have carried out extensive cooperation in the fields such as economy, culture, education, medical care, and the two governments have maintained close exchanges. High-level officials of Vanuatu state government have visited Foshan several times, injecting new impetus and support to the friendship between Foshan and Port Vila.
