Xituo overpass extra large bridge of Foshan First Ring Expressway, a section of the Guangzhou-Zhanjiang High-speed Railway, was under construction on November 29, 2022.

Spanning 3871.46 meters and bearing 7 special structural holes, the bridge is a key constituent of Pearl River Delta International Airport section of Guangzhou-Zhanjiang High-speed Railway.

With 72 bridges and 20 tunnels, the 78.78-kilometer-long Pearl River Delta International Airport section connects Foshan with Yunfu. It will take less than 1.5 hours to travel from Guangzhou to Zhanjiang once the railway is finished. The project aims to facilitate transport in Western Guangdong, and promote coordinated regional development of Guangdong province.

Connecting the Greater Bay Area and the Western Guangdong, the new railway is a key carrier to achieve coordinated development. And it's also an important extension from city clusters along the Beijing-Harbin, Beijing-Guangzhou (Macao) and Beijing-Kowloon (Taiwan) to Western Guangdong, Beibu Gulf and Hainan Province.
